Aston Martin Vantage

Aston-martin-v8-vantage-2008The Aston Martin Vantage is by far my favourite Aston in their range. A muscular but sleek looking machine. The sound of the racing engines at Silverstone this year were awesome.

The V8 Vantage was initially powered by a 4.3 L (4300 cc) quad-cam 32 valve V8 which produced 380 hp at 7,300 rpm and 302 lb·ft at 5,000 rpm. However models produced after 2008 had a 4.7 litre 420 hp V8. Though based loosely on Jaguar’s AJ-V8 engine architecture, this engine was unique to Aston Martin and featured race-style dry-sump lubrication, which enabled it to be mounted low in the chassis for an improved center of gravity. The cylinder block and heads, crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, camshafts, inlet and exhaust manifolds, lubrication system, and engine management were all Aston Martin designs and the V8 engine was assembled by hand at the AM facility in Cologne, Germany, which also built the V12 engine for the DB9 and Vanquish.

De Tomaso Pantera

De Tomaso PanteraI remember buying a magazine back in the ’90′s just because this car was on the cover. I put it above the Ferraris and Lambos at that time and became a firm favourite with me. I love the flared arches and the bulky aggressive look.

Lexus LFA

2011-Lexus-LFAI do love the LFA, I think it looks stunning, I wasn’t sure of the rear at first, it is growing on me, bit pricey though.! A 4.8 litre V10 that puts out 560ps at 8700rpm.

The Lexus LFA is a two-seat supercar from Lexus. It is the second model in the F marque line of performance vehicles from Lexus, following the IS-F. Three concept versions have been shown, each debuting at the North American International Show with the LF-A designation as part of the LF Series concept line. After beginning development in the early 2000s (codenamed P280), the first LF-A concept premiered in 2005, followed in 2007 by a second LF-A with a more completely furnished interior and exterior. The third version of the LF-A, a roadster model, premiered in 2008. The production model, trademarked LFA, was shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2009.

Nissan GT-R

Nissan-GT-R-2012The Nissan GT-R is personally one of my most favourite cars. If I held the winning lottery ticket it would be the first car I would buy, which I would drive to the Aventador garage.! Having owned Nissan 200sx (S13) and now my Skyline R34 I definitely have a soft spot for these iconic Japanese cars.
The 2013 GT-R has a 3.8 litre twin turbocharged V6 engine that produces 550PS@6400rpm.

mercedes-benz-sls-amgMercedes have created a monster with the SLS AMG, a 6.2 litre V8 putting out just under 600bhp, hitting 60mph in 3.7 seconds and stomping on to a staggering 199mph.
